Tel Aviv, Graffiti art and other stuff

IMG_1657

The flight was actually not long for a long distance traveler, but flying and sitting in a plane is always annoying. Anyway, after 7 hours I arrived in Tel Aviv at Ben Gurion Airport. I had to change in Istanbul, where I just caught the Transit flight in time. Pegasus is always a bit late, but they are nice and cheap.

I immediately got in touch with another German and an Israeli who showed us how we got to our hostels. I had no clue. I just trusted. And reached my hostel. Hayarkon 48. Next to the beach. The service was great, breakfast inclusive. One night costs 25 Euro. It was the first and cheapest hostel that popped up, when I booked one day before. I hate to make plans before, but i am always lucky.

Worst case scenery would be to sleep in a McDonald’s I thought myself. So this was so much better. I was happy. And finally arrive in the hostel around 01:00 in the night. I had to learn, that they don’t sell alcohol after 23:00. That was a pity. Tel Aviv, Graffiti art and other stuff weiterlesen

Short Trip to Israel

IMG_1655Why? I don’t know.  IMG_1654

Maybe because of this Hype that’s going on in Germany right now. Lots of German travel there these days.  Maybe because of the weather, maybe because it’s not the Israel Governent that’s in our news, but the Turkish.

IMG_1758 IMG_1757 IMG_1752

Two years ago it was the opposite. Turkey was great but Israel was in war against Hamas again. August 2015. Nobody travelled there, except my parents, who told me how nice and peaceful everything is. Media has a fucking deep impact on everything. The reality is another one.

Treat Your TV

IMG_0908

Our final workshop. I didn’t want it to start. I didn’t want this to end. But I had to face reality. So I kicked my ass after two days of rejecting everything. And suddenly my ideas were sparkling.

IMG_0907 IMG_0901

I had too much ideas and nothing really convinced me. So I grabbed my TV from a workshop in week 5. And just started with this. I always wanted to destroy a TV and film that. That’s why, maybe. But first I wanted to mess around with it. Here are the results…

IMG_0938 IMG_0937 IMG_1031

I also took it on a trip through south Iceland.  In the end I exhibited two projections. One with pics and one with four videos in one. I filmed me treating it in different ways. Treat Your TV weiterlesen

Adventure in the snow

IMG_1086

Finally we got some snow as well. Even in Germany they had it earlier. Actually I expected this island to have much more of snow. But yeah. There is no climate change, right.

IMG_1084 IMG_1083

At one point I had to leave the village for a couple of days. The valley was getting very small and I had a very good reason. I got visited by my best friends from cologne. They literally brought the snow to Iceland. After they left a week later, the snow disappeared as well^^

IMG_1114 IMG_1129 IMG_1126

First they tried to hitchhike after they found out, that they can’t rent a car without a credit card or 1200 Euro cash and I was worried not to see them at all. Because of the crazy snow. They got stuck in Selfoss, only one-two hours away from Reykjavik and asked me to collect them. So I did.  Adventure in the snow weiterlesen

JunkYardART and more…

Hello. I am back.  A lot of shit happened meanwhile and lots of thoughts are in my head. I was confused, disillusioned and I am still tired all the time.  IMG_0924 IMG_0923 IMG_0927Anyway the last two weeks passed by very fast and even I felt like doing NOTHING I still could participate in the workshops.

Time is running as always. I have trouble with myself in this world, and this group, struggle and learn a lot. As always. But I have fun and am happy in between these crises. As always. Soooo … everything is just normal 🙂

On one of my walks I found these strange soundsculptures. I don’t really get them but they’re an attraction of Seydisfjördur and made by an German Artist. Lukas Kühne. IMG_0759 IMG_0761 IMG_0760 IMG_0763

Life is not a „Ponyhof“

IMG_0424 IMG_0419

I really like to combine English and German sentences, because they have an own kind of charm.  And they are funny. The native speakers our group always laugh. Especially in the evening my English gets worse and worse. But that doesn’t matter. They mostly get what I want and if not they just have that long question marks in there face until i realize that i am talking bullshit.

Last weekend was great. I could finally dance all night with some other students. That was what I wanted to do since i arrived in this fucking tiny village, but dancing all alone is always weird. So this was THE weekend. After the barkeeper had thrown us out (it took him over an hour) we went to our private cinema and went on dancing until morning. The next day was exciting as well, as some other artists from town had an exhibition in an old fish factory. Included three or four mindfucking and really interesting performances.
