Polandtrip Part 3

Finally we found a really nice place at the lake Jezioro Tuchlin. This area belongs to the Masurian lake plate as we found out. I had no idea before, but they seem to be quite popular for German touritsts. It was not that cheap, I would have expected. Poland is quite touristy, but still ok. You pay prices like in Germany for beer and food.

Around 13:00 we could start cooking. Phillip improvised something with very small dishes and tishes. But it worked somehow.

The we relaxed at the lake and went for a walk later. We met some other friendly polish tourists, one of them could speak German very good. They invided us to eat some selfmade sausages. They were really good. We had noodles with cucumber, paprika and a cheese tomate sauce. And grilled cheese and prosecco!!

We got to bed quite early, because the next step was Krakow. That would have been the longest distance. A bit more than 500 km. We started around 08:00 in the morning.

But in the end, this trip didnt felt that long. The trip to Mikolajki and from one village to another felt like for ever. Because of those real bad streets, you couldnt even call these ways like that. There we needed half an hour for 10 km. We reached our Hostel (Yellow hostel just in the centre) around six in the afternoon. Phillip was worrying so much because of the park situation in Krakow. But we were really lucky. We found a free place just in front of the hostel, where we just had to pay for two hours. We had Friday evening and from Friday night to Sunday it was free then….

We relaxed a bit and went out to see the old center. There we had a crazy expensive but delicious dinner. It started to rain, that was really nice. After that we went to a pub near by, that Phillip found in the internet. There was a concert going on, nearly no guests. We celebrated until 02:00 in the morning.

Ian Boon & the music loved what they were doing. They played songs again because some guests just arrived at the end of there concert. That was so much fun.  The next morning we had to fight a bit with headache 😉

Poland Roadtrip Part 2

On wednesday we started around 13:00 after chilling at the beach and an improvised but very tasty breakfust/ lunch äh brunch. We also met some other Germans who were travveling by car. We got some snuff (tobaco) from them. They were looking for these big popular sand dunes, but we had no idea…. What ever.

The sun was burning, our moods very good and the music quite ok.First we had to find our way through the tourist hell. We stopped at a Biedronka store for some Ice Cream and a sweet bubbling drink for phillip.

I couldnt find my glasses in our chaos in our car, we call him Waltaa.  So I bought a some new. What the fuck. For 2,50 Euros that means 100 Zloty. 1 Euro are round about 4 Zloty…

The highway S8 to Warzawa was the worst. We stood in the traffic jam all the time. It felt like forever until we finaly reached Mikolajki. Even the small streets were getting worse and worse. Actually it were 392 km from Leba to Mikolajki. But we drove 6-7 hours. It felt much more. That was the hardest trip. But in the end we had some rain and the landscape was just beautiful.

In Mikolajki we parked Waltaa somewhere were we hoped we would stand in the shadow next morning. In the middle of the city actually.

This evening was quite short. We had a big menu, soup, pierogies, salad and french fries. Pommes we would say….And bear. Of course. It was very cheap. We payed less than 10 Euros each for everything.  In Zloty round about 40. The city had a nice cute haven. And they were not that much tourists, but we heard a lot of German. This night I slept much better, but still not very good. We had moskito fightings….

The next morning we decided to go soon and find a lake. We had a break in Restaurant in the middle of nowhere, what you just reach when you drive less then 10 km/h with a car like ours. The breakfast buffet was too expensive for us… 30 Zloty per Person?? Hm… so just coffee, one pancake and charging phones please. And the toilete.

I really love water toiletts…

In Suchy Rog, after another adventuros trip over big wholes in the street, it was so fucking windy that you couldnt really relax there. Besides we where not allowed to camp next to a van in the wind shadow. Two strange guys who had watched us from the moment we came into this tiny village, came to us and told us that this is privat.

Then we found out that we even had no tent herrings at all…. so it was just not possible, because the place where we would have been allowed to camp was too windy. It was still early, around 11:00 so we decided to look for something else….

A Roadtrip to Poland

Actually I had no plans for summer holidays…. but my best friend kind of forced me to, because he had to take holidays during summer break. And what ever…. I love travelling, and I never travelled through Poland. My best friends family used to live there. He didnt see his relatives for more than 14 years and somehow he felt it was time to go back to his roots.

We started in the night from saturday to sunday after we visited a free festival from one of our favorite punk bars SONIC BALLROOM in cologne. It was a good idea to go drive through the night, because my car is not climated and the trip to my parents is always a real long distance. We arrived 7 in the morning.

After two days off at my parents place we headed up to baltic sea. Leba, an old touristic place where my grandparents already used to make holidays. Around Leba they have real big dunes, like hills, where people go climbing. We arrived in the afternoon and parked walta, the car a bit outside of the centre, next to the sea. It was perfect.

The sunset was great, but it was a bit strange to see people selling weapons at the beach prominade. Even more when you see all the kids there running around. Leba is a typical place for family holidays. But this is a also a part of polish identity,  I guess. A Roadtrip to Poland weiterlesen
