I just came back from a short holidys in Greek/ Athens/ Exarchia. We got invited from Lina, who is studying via „Erasmus“ there.

Phillip and I landed on 02.01.2018 in the morning. We baught a 10€ ticket into the city. I had an adress and googlemaps showed us the way. It’s impossible to travel without that shit, to be honest. It would take much longer time, and time we never have. So…

Anyway the weather was SPRING!!! Great. The city is full. Small and dirty. But in Exarchia I felt home immediately. Lots of young people hanging out in the streets. Small cafes, bars. StreetART. Fire in the streets. But of course, a lot of homeless and poor people, as well.

Since Syriza couldn’t change anything, the people are very desperated. The left party was a big hope for left people all over Europe. But money is too important for everything. Sad. But I felt hope, wehen I realized the solidarity between refugees, activists, normal people, student and artists.

Anyway. We wanted to check out this area, where the police has nothing to say. Where people without papers can live in old squatted buildings and where, as well, somehow our zivilisation began. Long long time ago.
