Collective aid was found a few month ago in Belgrad for support people living in the streets. They cooked and served food, gave blankets and cloths.<\/p>\n

The camp „Usivak“ in Sarajevo was founded just two month ago. The bosnian NGO „Pozomi.ba“ asked Collective Aid to cook in\u00a0 the camp. They signed a contract\u00a0 for 6 months. The IOM gave them 50.000 Euros for preparing food three times a day for 400 people.<\/p>\n

IOM stands fo International Organization of Migration. This is an organization from the UN that registers all refugees and talks with governments. „Usivak“ is a so called Transit- Camp for 600 people.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Before we came to Sarajevo we had to apply with our Passportnumber and all dates in an online formular. After we arrived, we got a small instruction from Collective Aid and had to sign a kind of contract.<\/p>\n

\"\" \"\"<\/p>\n

For example… we aren’t allowed to share facebook contacts with the people in the camp or talk to them about politics or religion. And when you see somebody without shoes, you arent allowed to give them yours.\u00a0Strong rules… No partizipation at all. We are the givers and they’re the takers. I asked why we can not let them partizipate in the crew, like it was in City Plaza in Athens… They said its because of justice. They dont want that just a few take advantage—- so they treat everybody like animals? Hm. \"\" \"\"This is the first time I am working with a professional NGO and it feels really weird. A lot of strict rules, lot of hard work, no money, no real connection\u00a0 between helpers and refugees… Every night we get our schedule for the next day. We are just cheap stupid workers that are told what to do… If you stay longer, of course, you get more information and the chance to change small things… one girl from Collective aid, told me that they could manage that the people in the camp at least get some classes and organised activities. Incredible that governments, the UN and IOM doesn’t manage. If the money they get would go directly to collective Aid, they would run a much better camp….<\/p>\n

Some of the workers from Collective Aid helped since the crises started 2015 in Lesbos, Greek. I can understand somehow, that people are frustrated and over-worked. On both sides, lots of anger and trouble. Maybe this is the reason for all these strict rules. And maybe some people just want to make „adventure“ holiday (like we do??) and dont really care about the bad situation at all.\"\"<\/p>\n

We are indeed fucked and sad about the situation for the people in the camp and collectives. IOM pays workers, that sit all day on a chair and smoke, as it seems. Collective Aid, Aid Brigade and Cadus are all Volunteers that works much too much. Quite a big unbalance… \"\" \"\"<\/p>\n

Another problem is the food situation. They are running out of fresh stuff. It is really hard to know how many people would come for a meal, so sometimes its enaugh, sometimes not.\"\"<\/p>\n

The food distribution in the camp is third times a day for one and a half hour. People have to stand in line, registered persons get a ticket and are allowed to get one serving then… \"\" \"\"<\/p>\n

One day, four people arrived two minutes after the shift, they would not get anything, even there was a lot of food left over. Collective Aid said its not possible without IOM, IOM said it is the instruction from the bosnian NGO…. So like always. Everybody just follows the rules, nobody is responsible.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The food distribution on the streets is twice a day and here the situation is more open. People can get as much as they want, as soon there is enaugh. But they have to stand in line. From time to time there are fights, and when this happens they stop to give more food.\u00a0 The NGO organizations partizipates here and work together (without IOM and without official permition). I met a girl from „Baskenland“ north spain, that lives in Sarajevo and helps from time to time.<\/p>\n
